Frequently Asked Question
Posted 07/29/2026
Every time I close and reopen MovieSlate, I get a window saying the app closed unexpectedly and asking if I want to send a report. It happens several times a day and I feel bad sending all of that to you. Why does it keep popping up, and should I send it?
That window is MovieSlate's built-in crash reporter (added in version 26.0), and it will keep prompting you until you actually send the report. Once you send it, that particular report is cleared and the window stops nagging you about it. Please don't feel bad about sending them — the opposite is true. Crash reports are the single most useful thing you can give us. They tell us exactly what failed and where, which is how we pinpoint and fix bugs quickly. Sending them helps us make the app more stable for you. A few things worth knowing: - A repeated prompt usually is not a brand-new crash each time — it's often the same pending report resurfacing until it's sent, and it may even be about a crash we've already fixed in a newer release.
- Make sure you're on the latest App Store version (for example, 26.1 addressed a number of crash fixes). After updating, force-close and reopen MovieSlate, or simply restart your iPad.
- If the app is crashing often, tap send on the report the next time it appears — it takes a moment and directly helps us resolve what you're seeing.
If you'd rather send a report manually, see our FAQ on how to capture and send MovieSlate's crash report to support. |
