Frequently Asked Question

I have a Sony Venice with the CBK-WA02 Wi-Fi module. Is there a way for MovieSlate to automatically receive the clip name or other information from the camera?
MovieSlate only supports automatic metadata syncing with RED cameras — specifically DSMCv1 cameras with the REDLink module add-on, or DSMCv2 cameras with built-in REDLink hardware. It does not receive clip names or metadata from a Sony Venice over Wi-Fi. Timecode can still be synced by cable to any camera or device that supports SMPTE LTC timecode (including RecRun, which automatically starts and stops logging when the camera starts and stops timecode). Tentacle SYNC / TRACK E and Atomos UltraSync Blue / AtomX are supported for wireless (Bluetooth) timecode. To keep your file names matching the camera, use MovieSlate's Filename Input Style tool at Settings > Text Fields > Camera > FILE. Match the filename at the start of the shoot day and MovieSlate will automatically advance to the next filename as you log. See the Settings > Text Fields: Filename Input Styles section of the in-app User Guide (Help tab) for details. |
