I have an older iPad running iOS 15 that I still use on set, and a newer iPad Pro I'm keeping up to date. I'm worried that the next MovieSlate update will drop support for iOS 15 and break it on my older device. How do I protect my older iPad?The key is to disable automatic App Store updates on your older iPad so you control when (or if) MovieSlate gets updated on that device.
With auto-updates off, MovieSlate will not update automatically. You can still update manually at any time by going to the App Store and tapping Update — but only do this if you've verified the new version supports your iOS version. On your newer iPad, keep auto-updates on as normal so it always has the latest MovieSlate version. To check which iOS versions a MovieSlate release supports: Check the What's New section in the App Store listing or the MovieSlate release notes. The minimum supported iOS version is listed in the app's Requirements section on the App Store product page. Important: Once you install an update, Apple does not provide a way to downgrade. If an incompatible update is installed on an older device, the app may stop working and you cannot easily roll it back — which is why disabling auto-updates first is so important. |
