Frequently Asked Question Posted 05/26/2026

Every time I tap Restore Purchases in MovieSlate, it just shows a spinning wheel that never stops. How do I get my purchases restored?

The Restore Purchases process contacts Apple's receipt servers and can legitimately take up to 60 seconds to complete — please give it a full minute before concluding it is stuck.
If it genuinely isn't completing after 60 seconds, try the following steps:

  1. Check for billing issues: Open the App Store app and tap your account avatar in the upper corner. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Subscriptions. Apple will flag any billing problems on individual subscriptions — resolve those first.
  2. Verify you're on the right Apple ID: Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID in the App Store that you used to originally purchase MovieSlate and subscribe to Pro Features or Script Dept.
  3. Restart your iPad: A full restart clears any temporary App Store session issues. After restarting, open MovieSlate and try Restore Purchases again via Settings > MovieSlate Store > Restore.
  4. Check your internet connection: Restore Purchases requires an active connection to Apple's servers. Make sure you're on Wi-Fi or cellular.

Note for Music Video users: Music Video mode does not require Pro Features — it's part of the base MovieSlate app. You only need Pro Features if you are syncing to external timecode devices or using Sound Dept.
