Frequently Asked Question Posted 08/17/2026

I've created several projects in MovieSlate on my iPhone. When I go to send a report, the only thing I can email is a report covering all projects — I can't find an email or share button for one individual project. How do I email a report for just one project?

The email/share button that lets you choose a report scope lives inside the shot detail view, not at the Projects list level. Once you drill down to a shot, MovieSlate knows which project you're working in and offers a Report Scope menu that includes that single project.
To send a report for one project:

  1. Tap the History tab and switch to the Projects view.
  2. Tap the project you want to report on.
  3. If you're using the Sound Dept plugin, you'll first see a list of sound rolls — tap one.
  4. From the list of shots, tap any shot to open its detail view.
  5. At the bottom of the detail view, just above the tab bar, tap the action (share) button.
  6. The Report Scope menu appears. Choose the scope you want — the current project, the current roll, the current shot, or all projects — then send the report.

Tip: If the report email never arrives, that's a separate issue. Check that your mail app is set as the system default under Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Email, look in your mail app's Outbox for a stuck message, and note that Gmail rejects password-protected ZIP attachments — set Settings > History Reports > Zip Compress Files to No or Yes rather than With Password.
