Frequently Asked Question Posted 06/12/2026

I traveled to a different time zone and MovieSlate's time-of-day timecode isn't matching the new local time. My iPad shows the correct time, but the app's clock-based timecode is still on my old zone. How do I fix it?

MovieSlate reads its time-of-day timecode from the iPad's clock, so the fix is to make sure iOS has fully switched zones and then refresh the app's clock:

  1. Open the iOS Settings app and go to General > Date & Time. Set your current time zone (turning Set Automatically on, or choosing the city manually).
  2. Re-open MovieSlate. On the timecode keypad, tap the CLOCK button to re-sync the slate to the device clock.
  3. If the timecode still shows the old zone, restart the iPad and open MovieSlate again so it picks up the time-zone change, then tap CLOCK once more.

After that the time-of-day timecode will match your new local time. (This applies to clock/time-of-day timecode; if you're jam-synced to an external hardware source, re-jam from that device instead.)
