Why do I need to pay for Pro Features just to sync timecode? Shouldn't jam sync be part of the basic app?

You can visually jam-sync MovieSlate's timecode to your camera or recorder in the base app at no charge. What the Pro Features bundle adds is the ability to connect to external hardware and several professional logging tools.
Pro Features (available as a one-time purchase or a subscription) includes:

  • LTC timecode sync with external hardware over the headphone, Lightning, or USB-C port
  • Timecode sync over Bluetooth and WiFi with supported devices
  • Reality / Multicam logging
  • Production sound mixer logging (Sound Dept)
  • RED DSMCv1 / v2 camera control
  • Final Cut Pro X keyword logging

Hardware timecode sync is just one of the abilities Pro Features enables. We think the bundle is a good value for people who rely on MovieSlate for professional logging, though of course everyone's needs are different and some tools will be a better fit than others.
Already purchased Pro before? Purchases follow the Apple ID account that made them, not a specific device. Make sure you're signed into that same Apple ID in the iOS Settings app, then open MovieSlate, tap Settings > MovieSlate Store, and in the Restore Purchases section at the top tap the blue Restore button. Apple's receipt servers will then re-enable any purchases on your account.
