Frequently Asked Question Posted 06/03/2026

My UltraSync Blue keeps disconnecting from MovieSlate whenever my iPad goes to sleep. This didn't happen with older versions. How do I keep it connected?

If your UltraSync Blue (or other Timecode Systems / Atomos Bluetooth timecode device) drops its connection when the iPad screen sleeps, check whether B:LINK Networking is enabled:

  1. Go to Settings > Timecode + Sync > Tentacles & TCS/Atomos Devices.
  2. Make sure B:LINK Networking is turned On.

B:LINK is the Bluetooth LE background networking layer that Timecode Systems devices use. With it enabled, MovieSlate can maintain the connection while the display is off.
Also ensure your iPad is running the latest available iPadOS — Apple occasionally ships Bluetooth fixes in point releases (for example, iPadOS 26.0.1 addressed several bugs present in the initial 26.0 release).
If the issue persists after enabling B:LINK and updating iPadOS, try toggling Bluetooth off and on in iOS Settings, then reconnect the device in MovieSlate.
