My Shot Log History is displaying Sound Dept tracks instead of my Script Dept data. How do I fix this?

MovieSlate 8.9.56 added features to prevent this issue going forward. Here's what was causing it...

This usually means MovieSlate's department is set to Camera or Sound instead of Script, and/or the Script Owns New Shots setting is off. Here's how to correct both:

  1. Go to Settings > Shot Log History > Logger Info and set your Department to Script.
  2. Go to Settings > Script Dept > Data Logging and turn Script Owns New Shots to On.

The Script Owns New Shots setting is important: when it's off, new takes belong to whichever department tab you tapped the Start Shot button from. If you start a shot from the Sound Dept tab, for example, it gets logged as a sound take and the History view shows the Sound Dept interface instead of the Script Dept slated-scene interface.
With both settings correct, new shots will always be owned by Script Dept regardless of which tab you use to start them.
