I used to be able to pick a previously-entered director's name from a list when tapping the DIR field on the Slate screen, but now I only get the keyboard. Did MovieSlate lose that feature? On episodic shows I switch directors constantly and retyping the name every time is slow.

The feature is still part of MovieSlate — it was temporarily lost to a regression and has been restored in version 26.3. Tapping the small person icon next to the DIR field on the Slate screen brings up a Choose Director's name popup with two options:

• Choose from History — a list of every director name you have previously entered in MovieSlate. The restored version also includes a search box, so you can type a few letters to jump straight to the name you want instead of scrolling.
• Choose from Contacts — pulls a name directly from your device's Contacts app.

1. Go to the MovieSlate tab and open the Slate screen.
2. Tap the person icon to the left of the DIR field (tapping the text field itself just opens the keyboard for manual typing).
3. Tap Choose from History and search or scroll to the director you want, or tap Choose from Contacts to pick from your address book.
