Frequently Asked Question Posted 06/05/2026

I drew coverage lines on my script page, but when I go back or start drawing on the next page, the lines I already drew have shifted or moved to different positions. How do I prevent this?

Line annotations shifting or jumping after being drawn was caused by a bug in the third-party PDF rendering library MovieSlate uses. The bug caused text markup annotations and ink marks to shift position after page margins were applied. This was fixed in a MovieSlate update shortly after being identified.
Make sure you are running the latest version of MovieSlate. Tap the Help tab to see your current version, then check the App Store for updates. Updating MovieSlate to the current release should resolve the shifting behavior.
If you are already on the latest version and lines are still shifting:

  • Force-close MovieSlate (swipe up from the bottom and swipe the app away in the App Switcher) and reopen it.
  • If a line has already shifted, you can use the Select tool to select and delete the misplaced line, then redraw it.
  • If the problem persists, send a Bug Report with Data from the Help tab so the team can investigate with your specific script file.
