Frequently Asked Question Posted 06/05/2026

I'm trying to sync MovieSlate to a music track, but when I browse to it in the media picker, I can tap it but nothing happens — it doesn't get selected. The same track plays fine in the Music app.

This is a known issue on iPadOS 26 with the system media picker when a track is missing its Title metadata tag. If the track has no Title, tapping it from the Recently Added section does not return a valid reference to MovieSlate — the picker silently ignores the tap.
Workaround: Instead of browsing Recently Added, tap the search icon in the media picker and search for the track by artist or filename under Your Library. Selecting it from the search results should work even without a Title tag.
Permanent fix: Use the Music app on your Mac or PC to add a Song Title to the track's metadata, then sync the updated track back to your iPad. After that it will be selectable normally from any section of the media picker.
Make sure MovieSlate also has permission to access your Media Library: open the iOS Settings app, tap Privacy & Security > Media & Apple Music, and confirm MovieSlate's permission is turned on.
