Frequently Asked Question
Posted 06/16/2026
We're already running two iPads synced as Logger A and Logger B. Can a third script supervisor join the same session, and does everyone need to be on the exact same MovieSlate version to sync?
Yes. A single Logger A (the host) can have multiple Logger B clients connected at the same time, so a third (or fourth) person can join your existing session without anyone having to log out. Versions do not need to match exactly. The app-to-app sync features shipped back in version 8.9.44, so as long as everyone is on that release or newer, a small version difference is not a problem. A mismatched version number is almost always a red herring. What actually matters for a successful connection: - Local Network permission must be enabled for MovieSlate on every device. Check iOS Settings > MovieSlate > Local Network and make sure it is turned on.
- All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. If the new device is on the same network the rest of the team is using, it should connect with no trouble.
If a device still won't join after confirming both of the above, restart the app on that device and try connecting again. |
