I logged some shooting days on my iPad and other days on my iPhone. How do I get all of them together on one device without losing the data that's already there?
You have two options. Choose based on whether the destination device already has logging data you need to keep. Important: Before you begin, sign into MovieSlate Cloud on each device (Settings > MovieSlate Cloud) and tap Backup, so you have a safety copy of both devices. Option 1 — Backup & Restore (replaces ALL data on the destination) Use this only when the destination device has nothing you need to keep, because it overwrites everything there. - On the source device, go to Settings > MovieSlate Cloud and tap Backup.
- On the destination device, go to Settings > MovieSlate Cloud and tap Restore, then tap the backup you just made.
Option 2 — Send Shared Data with MERGE (combines without overwriting) Use this when both devices have data you want to keep — for example days 1–20 and 24–25 on the iPad, and days 21–23 on the iPhone. - On the device that has the extra days (for example the iPhone), go to Settings > MovieSlate Cloud and tap Send in the Send Shared Data section.
- When the Share Projects menu appears, tap your current show, then tap Done.
- Tap the MovieSlate Cloud option, then enter the email address you use for MovieSlate Cloud. MovieSlate prepares the package and shows a Share Code (you'll also receive it by email). Leave that screen open.
- On the other device (for example the iPad), go to Settings > MovieSlate Cloud and tap Receive in the Shared Data section. Enter the Share Code.
- When the Receive Shared Data menu appears, tap MERGE at the top, then tap Import (upper-left corner).
MovieSlate imports only the data that is unique to the sending device, so the missing days are added without disturbing the days already on the destination device. |
