Frequently Asked Questions

We know you have them, here are answers to the common ones.

Frequently Asked Question Posted 06/12/2026

I already shot and completed a scene. Months later that scene was omitted in new page revisions. Will the previously shot page, scene, and time counts in my Progress Report change to reflect the omission — and if not, can I make them?

It depends on which report you mean, because MovieSlate treats them differently:

  • Progress Report (PR): A PR shows what you actually shot, regardless of later breakdown omissions. Omitting a scene in the Breakdown screen does not remove it from the page/scene/time totals you already logged.
  • Progress Breakdown report: This report does reflect omissions. Omit the scene in the Breakdown screen, then re-run the Progress Breakdown report and the omitted scene is accounted for.

If you specifically need the Progress Report's already-shot counts to no longer include that scene, the only way is to remove the underlying takes:
  1. Go to the History tab and delete the logged takes for the omitted scene.
  2. Re-run your Progress Report. The page, scene, and time counts will update to exclude the deleted takes.

Deleting History entries is permanent, so back up to MovieSlate Cloud first if you may want that data later.
