Frequently Asked Question Posted 05/27/2026

Our company uses centralized procurement and we'd like to purchase MovieSlate for multiple employees with a single invoice rather than individual App Store accounts. Can we do this through Apple Business Manager?

Yes — with important caveats. The base MovieSlate app can be purchased and distributed through Apple Business Manager (ABM), which allows organizations to buy app licenses in bulk and assign them to managed devices without requiring individual Apple IDs or personal credit cards.
However, in-app purchases are not currently supported on Apple Business Manager. This means that Pro Features and Script Dept subscriptions — which are in-app purchases — cannot be purchased or distributed through ABM at this time.
In summary:

  • Base MovieSlate app: ? Available via Apple Business Manager for bulk purchase and distribution.
  • Pro Features subscription: ? Not available via ABM — must be purchased individually through the regular App Store.
  • Script Dept subscription: ? Not available via ABM — must be purchased individually through the regular App Store.

If your team only needs the core slate and logging features of the base app, ABM is a viable procurement path. If they need Pro Features or Script Dept workflows, individual App Store purchases are currently required. See our Feature Matrix to compare what's included in each tier.
