Frequently Asked Question Posted 05/26/2026

Our company manages iPads through MDM and VPP (Volume Purchase Program). Can we deploy MovieSlate with Pro Features or Script Dept enabled for all our managed devices?

Unfortunately, Apple's Volume Purchase Program (VPP) does not support in-app purchases or subscriptions — it can only be used to purchase and distribute the base MovieSlate app. Pro Features and Script Dept are in-app subscriptions and cannot be bundled into a VPP deployment.
Due to upstream licensing requirements, we are also unable to offer a special enterprise or "full-featured" version of MovieSlate on the App Store that includes Pro Features as part of the base purchase.
Here are the options available for teams using managed devices:

  • Per-user subscriptions: Each user (or each Apple ID) must subscribe to Pro Features or Script Dept individually through Settings > MovieSlate Store inside the app. Pro Features is available as a one-time in-app purchase or as a monthly subscription.
  • Shared Apple ID (limited): If your team uses a single shared Apple ID on managed devices, one purchase or subscription on that account would cover all devices signed into it — though Apple's policies around shared accounts should be reviewed for your situation.

We hope Apple will eventually extend VPP to cover in-app purchases, which would make managed deployments much simpler. If you have questions about volume needs, feel free to contact us.
