Every time I try to open MovieSlate it briefly shows a black screen and immediately closes. Restarting my iPad didn't help. How do I fix this?
Follow these steps in order: - Force-quit MovieSlate — swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the App Switcher, find MovieSlate, and swipe it up to close it. Then reopen the app.
- Restart your device — hold the power button, slide to power off, wait 30 seconds, then restart.
- Update MovieSlate — open the App Store, tap your profile icon, and check for updates. Install the latest version of MovieSlate if one is available.
- Reinstall MovieSlate — if the above steps do not help, press and hold the MovieSlate icon and choose Remove App, then reinstall from the App Store. Important: back up your data first (see below) — reinstalling will delete local data that has not been backed up.
Before reinstalling, back up your data: go to Settings > MovieSlate Cloud > Backup if the app opens briefly, or use an iCloud device backup (iOS Settings > your name > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now) if it does not. After reinstalling, tap Settings > MovieSlate Store > Restore to reactivate your Pro Features or subscriptions. |
